Caldwell’s great-great grandfather was James Caldwell, an explorer who traveled in Egypt in 1870. She beautifully combines his journal entries with photographs of artifacts, artist renditions of the cities and people, and the stories about the pharaohs, mummies, pyramids, temples and ruins of ancient Egypt.
This was a fascinating look, not too heavy on text and the illustrations were fantastic.
