Hale, Bruce Clark the
Shark Dares to Share Illustrated by Guy
Francis Harper, 2014. $17.99
PICTURE BOOK Content: G.
Clark is confused about what it means to
share. Sometimes we are supposed to
share, such as when playing with toys, but other times we aren’t supposed to
share, like when it’s someone else’s turn at show and tell. Clark makes his friends mad when he doesn’t
follow the rules of sharing, but eventually he figures out the difference.
The illustrations are cute smiling sharks and
the story line is engaging. I worry that
the message of when it is okay to share and when it’s not isn’t explained very well
and felt rushed. It’s a good idea, but
not executed clearly.
