Where Things Come Back by John Whaley

Whaley, John Corey Where Things Come Back, 228 pgs. Atheneum Books, 2011. Language - PG (13+ swears in first 12 pages, 0+ "f"), Sexual Content - PG; Violence - PG;

Cullen is a loner with only a couple of friends and not a clue what to do with life. This book couldn't even keep my attention for three pages before I drifted to more interesting subjects. When I got back to the book, I could feel myself becoming depressed just within the first chapter. This combined with thirteen swear words in only twelve pages was enough for me to set the book down and move on.

I felt the same way, and am glad to see that a member of the target demographic agrees. It doesn't matter how many awards a book wins; the important thing is getting students interested, and this book did not do that.
