Jessell, Tim
Falcon Random House,
2012. $17.99 PICTURE BOOK Content: G
A little boy imagines himself as a falcon. He imagines all of the faraway places
that he would go: up north to through the mountains, over the coastline, on the
high cliffs, over the big cities.
And when he got to the city he would fly above the crowds to get their
attention.
This is a beautifully
illustrated book with only a sentence or two of text. There isn’t really a storyline, it’s more like a dream with
random pictures of the different places he would go. The only part I found annoying is I think it would be
unrealistic for a falcon to go to a city and swoop down on people, but I guess
if it’s a boy imagining he’s a falcon, then that would make sense. The pictures are realistic and catch
the attention of younger readers.
