Heo, Yumi Lady
Hahn and her Seven Friends Christy
Ottaviano Books, 2012. PICTURE
BOOK Content: G.
Lady Hahn is a
seamstress who has seven different sewing tools that help her sew. Each tool talks about how important
they are to making the clothing, and boasts of their own skills. After listening to the ruler, thimble,
needle, iron, flatiron, thread and scissors fight Lady Hahn tells them that she
is the most important part of the process and all the sewing tools leave in a
huff. When Lady Hahn tries to make
clothes without them it is impossible so she starts to cry. The seven tools come back and everybody
recognizes how important they all are to the process.
This is a good book about team work and the illustrations
are cute. The moral is simple to
understand and the idea that everyone contributes to the end product is
clear.
