Step into Reading: Fairies! A True Story Illustrated by Red Hansen Random House, 2012. $3.99 EARLY READER Content: G.
This book explains the idea behind fairies. The beginning explores many different
countries ideas of fairies. Some
fairies are helpful and some cause harm.
The idea behind fairies is traced back to a smaller group of people who
were conquered by tall men. When
the smaller folks ran away from the conquerors, they went to the forest and hid
in green clothes. They did some of
the things that fairies are attributed with to survive. The book also talks about two young
girls who staged a photograph with pictures of fairies and in the 1920s were
believed to be real.
The question
of whether fairies are real or not is left to the reader. This is a fun truthful look at
fairies. It would be good for
those girl readers who like to learn about fairies.
