Callie lives with her Uncle Harry during the summer and helps him at his
bookstore where they uncover a rare palimpsest which unveils a story of a
couple in love. Harry sets Callie
up with a boy named August, whose father is also interested in solving the
mystery behind the love story hidden in the pages of the book. Callie and August quickly fall in love
and go around researching the history of the book for Harry. Their search takes them to Paris where
they end up in a convent and are shown the last piece to their mystery. In their attempts to understand the
hidden love story of the book, they begin to understand their own love
story.
This book was fun because
it had teen romance, but also a good adventure. The characters have depth and family problems that also add
to the story. It was an
entertaining read.
