Where Do Jet Planes Sleep at Night? by Brianna Sayres - ESSENTIAL

Sayres, Brianna Caplan Where Do Jet Planes Sleep at Night? illustrated by Christian Slade. PICTURE BOOK. Random House, 2017. $16.99.

Do mommy planes give their kids hugs? Do daddy helicopters chide their youngsters about spinning too much before bed? This is a book of questions and wonderings, asking about where jet planes, biplanes, hot air balloons and other flying machines take their rest in the evening.

My son is absolutely obsessed with all things 'airplane' and we both really enjoyed this picture book. Each page has a couple lines of rhyming text and fun anthropomorphized illustrations, making it perfect for a read-aloud. I appreciated the variety of flying machines featured in the book and the subdued coloring that is the perfect choice for a bedtime story. This will be a real winner for all the airplane-loving youngsters out there.

Pre-K--ESSENTIAL. Reviewer: TC
