On Farah’s twelfth birthday, she is given a wooden board
game entitled “The Gauntlet of Blood and Fire.” This seemingly harmless gift sucks
in her young autistic brother, Ahmad, who gets trapped within the game. Farah
and her friends Alex and Essie enter the mysterious and dangerous game to
rescue her young brother. Facing dangerous ghouls and solving intricate puzzles
are just a few of the challenges they must face in order to save not only her
brother, but the hundreds of souls trapped within the game. It a fight against
the clock in this electrifying adventure.
This book had a great feel. The basics of the story were
amazing, well written, and excellently plotted. Also, there is a great amount
of detail without any loss of storyline. This book caught my attention
instantly and held it throughout. I would recommend this book every time. I
would give this book four stars.
