Eva lives in a self-imposed bubble, being
extremely careful about what her hands come in contact with—a calculator is
okay, but a cell phone is not, and skin contact is out of the question. This
caution is not because Eva is a germaphobe, but because Eva is able to see the
feelings of those who have handled whatever Eva touches. But even having this
unique ability is not the craziest thing in Eva’s life right now.
I was captivated by Eva’s “condition” and the ways she used
her ability. Her circumstances were odd without being over-the-top and
unimaginable. Despite all the unusual twists and turns that will never occur in
my own life, Brant writes in such a way that I still relate with Eva and want
to become more like her; for example, in her determination to follow her dreams
and in her desire to become the best her that she can be.
HS – OPTIONAL.
