Riordan, Rick The Dark Prophecy (Apollo #2), 401 pages. Disney, 2017.
$20. Language: G; Mature Content:
G; Violence: PG (similar danger to previous novels).
Apollo is traveling in the lowly mortal form of teenager
Lester Papadopoulos with Leo Valdez and Calypso on Leo’s bronze dragon Festus,
searching for the next Oracle. When they
reach Indianapolis, the most innocuous city in the United States, they find their target, some new friends, and
an inordinate amount of opposition.
Apollo also wants to find Meg, who betrayed him to Zeus, but for whom he
still cares.
I am loving reading about Apollo. I think everyone is enjoying that he is stuck
in a pimply teenage body. He is still arrogant, but in less flashy ways. Riordan continues to write captivating,
action-packed novels that students will continue to gobble up.
