Spy Ski School by Stuart Gibbs - ESSENTIAL

Gibbs, Stuart Spy Ski School, 350 pages.  Simon, 2016.  $17.  Language: G; Mature Content: G; Violence: PG.

Ben has been called on a dangerous assignment – get to know the daughter of a notorious Chinese mafia boss.  During a ski trip.  Ben has never skied before and his track record with girls is really not that great (he is still unrequitedly pining over fellow spy Erica), but the CIA is sure that he is the boy for the job.  Unfortunately, he mentions his upcoming trip to his best friend, Mike, and who should arrive on the slopes also – Mike.  Too bad for Ben , the target seems more interested in Mike.  How can Ben get the girl so that he can spy on her dad, keep his spying secret from Mike, and stay alive all at the same time?

Yeah for Spy School!  Gibbs has just the right amount of humor and danger, writing books that are a nice step up from James Patterson’s simpler titles.
