Henry, April Blood Will Tell, 272 pgs., Henry Holt
and Company, 2015, $ 13.78 Content: PG-13 (violence, murder)
April, Ruby and Nick are back with Portland Search And
Rescue (SAR). A body has been found in a vacant lot. Suspicion falls on Nick.
Nick wants to be good at what he does, but the police find his fascination with
violence and crime scenes suspicious. Can April and Ruby clear Nick? And still
help solve the murder?
This was a fast paced book, quite a page-turner. I like the
way April Henry describes crime scenes, how a grid search is performed, DNA testing,
and other evidence gathering. It was frightening that police can question and
interrogate teen suspects on just a “suspicion” and circumstantial evidence.
She has done a lot of back ground research and written another great book. I
look forward to further adventures of April, Nick and Ruby in the future.
