Camillia seriously hates the woman with whom she lives, her supposed adopted mother, because the woman really is a witch.  If she isn’t making Camillia gather disgusting ingredients for spells, then she is making her life dangerous and miserable in other ways.  Now Camillia must get the ingredients for controlling a demon - yes, really, a demon.  “Mother” wants to take over the country and the demon will help her get the power she needs by finding the phoenix that was hidden many years ago.  If Camillia doesn’t help?  Well, then the cute boy she just met may be permanently possessed by the demon, and the whole high school may explode, on Halloween, when the gym is packed for the Halloween bash.  What’s a girl to do?
