Prahin, Andrew Brimsby’s Hats. PICTURE BOOKS. Simon & Schuster, 2014. $16.
Brimsby has been making hats with his friend for many years. When his friend leaves to captain a ship, Brimsby is left alone. One day he finally is lonely enough to look for new friends. The creatures he encounters are too busy keeping warm in the cold winter. Brimsby has a bright idea, bringing warmth to the creatures, and making more time to enjoy tea with his new friends.
While I was very charmed by the illustrations, I am having a hard time buying into the whimsy of the story. I think its just me, though. I really need to find myself some five year olds to read stories to!

I also didn't enjoy the plot of this story but was drawn to the artwork. I will keep an eye out for this illustrator!
