In this simplified version of Cathleen Schurr's 1946 tale, a kitten joins its siblings and friends in exploring its home on the farm. Their play culminates in a delicious picnic. The pictures are colorful, lively, and adorable. The large font and simple sentences are good for newer readers. While the text would likely feel choppy if read aloud by an adult, this would make a nice addition to a classroom library or to a school's leveled reader collection.
