Stanton, Angie Under
the Spotlight (Jamieson Brothers, #3), 389 pgs.
HarperTeen, 2015. Content:
Language: R (92 swears); Mature Content:
PG-13; Violence: PG.
Garrett has been
the bossy, controlling brother in the Jamieson’s brothers’ band, but now that
the band has broken up, he is lost.
After causing multiple media scenes with his out of control behavior,
his father gives him the idea of going into the production part of the music business. When he shows up at his old music producer’s
studio, he is looking for a new voice to launch his career, but he doesn’t
expect to find someone as strong and beautiful as Riley. Riley has had a hard life, but she refuses to
give up. She has found a position at the
music studio thanks to an old connection in her music career, but she isn’t
about to be replaced by a former rock star.
Riley and Garrett want different things in life, but they learn from
each other that maybe they can help each other.
This is the final book in the Jamieson brothers’ series, and although it's part of a series, you can read it separate and it will still make
sense. It is fun to read Garrett’s story
and this isn’t your typical love at first sight type book, so it’s fun to watch
the characters grow and make each other better.
There is a lot of swearing, but the other content is clean enough for
middle school.
