Broken Crowns by Lauren DeStefano - OPTIONAL

DeStefano, Lauren  Broken Crowns (Internment Chronicles, #3) 264 pgs.  Simon and Schuster, 2016.  $17.99

Content: Language: G; Violence: PG-13; Mature Content: PG-13.

Morgan is on the ground in Havalais, but her thoughts can’t stay away from her home of Internment.  When Morgan realizes that Internment is sinking towards the ground because of Havalais’ intrusion on her city, she works to make it back to Internment.  The kings of Havalais and Internment are both wicked in their own way and Morgan joins with her best friends and past enemies to try and save her city.

This book ends the Internment trilogy and although there were parts of it that are left open ended, I enjoyed the characters and the creative world.  It would be impossible to understand what is going on in this book without having read the other two books in the series.  The violence is gruesome but not gratuitous and the mature content is implied sexual assault and implied sex.

MS, HS – OPTIONAL.

Reviewer, C. Peterson.
