Gorbachev, Valeri. Doctor Nice, PICTURE BOOK. Holiday House, 2015. $16.95. Doctor Nice is seeing all sorts of injured patients for the day. Bear has a sore throat from falling asleep in the snow, Moose fell through the ice while skating, and Mrs. Cow slipped on the ice and hurt her tail. Doctor Nice sees all of the animals and gives them just the right cure. At the end of the story we find that Doctor Nice is a young child who is pretending to be a doctor and help all of his ailing stuffed animals. I wouldn’t say that the illustrations in this book were unappealing, but it’s almost like they lack a bit of clarity. The stories that the child makes up for his animals are realistic and they have the right mix of imagination and reality. A cute book, but not a must have. PRE-K, K-3- OPTIONAL.
