This is the story of Oliver getting ready for his first day of school. His dad is there for every step of the way. But when the big day comes, his dad gets a tummy ache, and he doesn’t want to leave Oliver at class alone. After the teacher carries him out, his dad goes home. Will his tummy stop aching? Will Oliver be able to have fun without his dad?
First off, this pictures are ADORABLE! However the story would make a better gift for a parent whose child is headed off to school for the first time. I don’t think there is even a slight possibility that a child will understand concept presented here that the dad isn’t ready for his little boy to go to school for the first time. That takes an adult/parent perspective.
