Sheth, Kashmira Tiger
in My Soup Illustrated by Jeeffrey
Ebbeler Peachtree Publishers, 2013. $7.95
PICTURE BOOK Content: G.
A
little boy is left home with his sister as the babysitter. He begs her to read to him his book about
tigers, but she is always too busy. She
makes him lunch and when he looks into his soup he sees a tiger. He tries to warn his sister about the tiger,
but she finally pays him enough attention that she starts to read him his tiger
book while he eats his lunch. Through
the steam coming off his soup he can’t tell if his sister might be the
tiger.
The illustrations in this book
are adorable. I love the creative idea
and how the little boy uses his imagination.
Taking the book as a whole, I felt like the story was implied more than
it was told and it felt unfinished.
