Manning, Mick and Brita Granstrom Woolly Mammoth Frances Lincoln, 2006. $9.99
PICTURE BOOK Content: G.
This book is told in two parts. Each page has a rhyming story with cartoon-ish
woolly mammoths that tell how they eat, what the baby mammoths are like and how
they use their tusks, among other things.
The second part is a side bar with historical or scientific facts about
mammoths including artifacts that prove mammoths were on earth. There is a glossary at the end.
The illustrations are sub par, but the rhyming
part of the story was good. My kids
don’t like when there is a mix between a story and facts on the same page. They will either have me read all the story
or all the facts, but they don’t like to interrupt one to do the other, it
feels disjointed.
