What a strange riff on the Cinderella and the Big Bad Wolf
stories. Carey has made Cinderella lazy and invented a third stepsister
to be the nice person in the family, go to the ball and win the prince. I
would have been much happier with the whole thing if the author hadn’t screwed
up Cinderella’s personality, or had messed with the whole story line so much
that it created a whole new story. This, however, doesn’t quite work for
me.
