With its focus on real life inclusion of math that is applicable to upper elementary, this book strives to include math in daily activities. It includes relevant and fun problems like: how far you walked to trick or treat and your heart rate when you are dancing. Features bright photos, great text variations and page layout.
I really appreciate that this book tries to find real world applications for math example that actually are relevant to students. (not the whole Train traveling one direction example!). Maybe if there were more books like this when I was growing up, I would have a better attitude about Math and how much it can affect our daily lives as children (not just some far off: well you will use it someday). That being said, will students check this out on their own or will teachers find some use for it? I am eager to promote it on both sides and try to find out.
