Schnell, Lisa Kahn. High Tide for Horseshoe Crabs, PICTURE BOOK. Charlesbridge, 2015. $16.95. The migration of the horseshoe crab to Delaware Bay is chronicled in this picture book. Shorebirds join them to feast on the horseshoe crab eggs. The horseshoe crabs are tagged and can then be tracked to see what areas of the world they travel to and makes it so scientists can identify any changes in their habits that could affect the larger ecosystem of sea animals. There are notes in the back of the book that give more details about the history of the horseshoe crab and the way they survive and interact with our world. There is also a list of resources that you can use to learn more about horseshoe crabs and diagrams of their body parts. This a great informational book, in a picture book format. The story can get a little slow at times, but the informational component is fantastic. The horseshoe crab is such a strange looking creature and it was really interesting to learn more about its part in the ecosystem. EL- ADVISABLE. Reviewed by Shay, School Librarian
