Kim, Hanmin. Tiptoe Tapirs, PICTURE BOOK. Holiday House, 2013. $16.95. Content: PG (a hunter tries to shoot at the animals). When all of the other animals in the jungle are trying to be the loudest, the tapir is the quietest of all. A leopard attacks the tapir and her baby and just as it is about to gobble them up, a hunter starts shooting at them. Tapir shows the leopard how to be extra quiet in the jungle and run away so that the hunter can no longer find them. This teaches all of the other animals that it’s to their benefit to be quiet too. I felt like there was too much build up to the climax in this story without much return. I had some difficulty discerning some of the artwork as well, which to its credit was at least different from the norm. EL (K-3)- OPTIONAL. Reviewed by Shay, School Librarian
