Still recovering from Valeri
Romanov’s deadly attack and subsequent abduction of Henry Seward, Department 19
is under the new direction of Cal Holmwood. One of his first orders is to
disband G-17. Thrown by the decision, Jamie is trying his best to be an
effective leader of the Internal Security Assessment Team (ISAT). His job is to
root out traitors. Meanwhile, his former teammate, Larissa is sent to work with
NS9, the deparment’s sister organization. The other friend, Matt Browning is
sent to work in the depths of the Loop on Project Lazarus in order to find a
cure for the vampiric plague. When a coordinated, global attack on maximum
security prisons turns a bunch of inmates into vampires, the trio know that
time is running out. Can Jamie, Matt, and Larissa find the traitors in the
organization? Will they find a cure for the vampire plague? Will they prevent
the world from finding out about vampires?
The characters are well developed
and engaging. The plot is intense, well-paced, and draws the reader easily into
Jamie, Larissa, and Matt’s world. Readers
who have enjoyed the prequels will enjoy reading this book. HS. OPTIONAL
