Singer, Marilyn Tallulah’s
Nutcracker Illustrated by Alexandra Boiger, PICTURE BOOK. Clarion Books,
2013. $16.99. Content: G
Tallulah is so excited about being in a professional
production of the Nutcracker. Although she didn’t get the starring role, she’s
glad to be a mouse. She practices and practices until the big night. When
something goes wrong onstage, she’s convinced her career as a dancer is over
just as it’s beginning. After several pep talks from some of the more seasoned
dancers she feels better about the situation. It’s a great book to talk about
failing at something and not giving up. Even though it’s a Christmas themed
book, it’s great any time of the year.
