A young girl named Cadence has a gift of music that helps her
keep the noise at bay in a futuristic world fraught with aliens and spacesick
humans. When a scientist shows up at one of her concerts he threatens to
destroy everything Cade has ever known about herself. She realizes she is not
in this world alone, she is entangled with a boy she doesn’t remember but must
now go out and find and rescue him from the unmakers. Along the way she makes
the most unlikely bonds of friendship with aliens and humans alike.
This book
actually surprised me. It started out a little too high tech for me but the
story grabbed my attention and kept it throughout the entire book. Classic
story about the bonds of friendship among people of different races and ideals,
and how one person truly can make a difference. It alluded to some mild sexual
attraction and had fight scenes and non-decriptive torture scenes. Sci-Fi fans
would love this book.
