Eight Dolphins of Katrina by Janey Coleman - ADVISABLE

Coleman, Janey Wyman Eight Dolphins of Katrina:  A True Tale of Survival.  36 p. Houghton Mifflin, 2013.  $17.  Content: G.
The fourteen dolphins of the Marine Life Oceanarium in Mississippi were in trouble.  With Hurricane Katrina on the way, six were evacuated to safety, but eight had to be left behind.  After the hurricane, the eight were nowehere to be found.  12 days later, the trainers were finally able to head out to the Gulf – where all eight dolphins were waiting for them.  Only picture book size, this story is well worth sharing with young readers – who you know love dolphins.  While not strong on science, it does have a limited section of dolphin information.  EL – ADVISABLE.  Cindy, Library Teacher.
