Sean Griswold's Head by Lindsey Leavitt -- Advisable

Leavitt, Lindsey Sean Griswold's Head, 288 pgs. Bloomsbury, 2011. Language - G; Sexual Content - G; Violence - G. "After discovering that her father has multiple sclerosis, fifteen-year-old Payton begins counselling sessions at school, which lead her to become interested in a boy in her biology class, have a falling out with her best friend, develop an interest in bike riding, and eventually allow her to come to terms with life's uncertainties."

Way cute book. Payton is a fun character and it was a joy to be inside her head for 300 pages. Her emotions and reactions to life's disappointements were real and deep. I never actually cried (though I might've been close), but I definitely laughed out loud. Her relationship with Sean Grisold (and his head) was a lot of fun. It's great contemporary fiction.
