Feiffer, Kate, Problem with the Puddles. Paula Wiseman Books, 2011. Pgs. 208. Language: G, Violence: G, Sexual Content: G
The Puddles are a zany family. Their eight-year-old daughter’s name is Baby, because her parents could never agree on a name. When the family goes on a vacation, they forget to take the dogs. When they don’t go back for the dogs, they set out on their own adventure and have nothing but problems. Meanwhile, their dogs are confused and sad as to why their family left them behind. The two decide to go on their own adventure to find their humans. Will the humans and canines ever unite or will their vacation be ruined?
A quirky, fun read. The characters are likable enough. The plot is averagely developed, but the humor is pretty fun and does a good job of holding the reader's interest. Readers who like animals, adventure, zany families, and humor will enjoy reading this book. EL (K-3). OPTIONAL. Reviewer: Jessica M, Library Media Specialist, Olympus Jr. High.
