The Poison Diaries by Maryrose Wood - ADVISABLE

Wood, Maryrose The Poison Diaries, 282 pgs. Balzer+Bray, 2010. $16.99. Language-G (0 swears), Sexual Content-PG-13; Violence-PG-13; Jessamine always thought she was destined to live her entire life living with her father and his poison plants as her only company. Then a strange boy called Weed join her and her father in their isolated, deserted monastery. But Jessamine finds that Weed may be just as strange as they say. And when tragedy hits this small, odd family, Jessamine has to put all of her trust in this strange boy that she loves.  This book was wonderfully written. It flowed very easily and the story really came alive. Weed was a wonderfully new type of character for this age setting. His and Jessamine's love is a sweet one that kind of jumps out of the dark. I loved the fight for their love and the unexpected turns. MS, HS - ADVISABLE Student Reviewer: KU
