A Wizard of Mars by Diane Duane
Duane, Diane, A Wizard of Mars, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, 2010. Language: G, Violence: PG, Sexual Content: PG
This ninth adventure in the Young Wizards series takes us to Mars. Kit, Nita, and their companions are recuperating from the events of the Puulus Projects by focusing on their wizarding projects. Kit has become obsessed with discovering what happened to the Martians that used to inhabit the planet. Nita is determined to master the power of futurity while still juggling her relationship with Kit. Kit, however, is engrossed in his project and hasn’t been paying much attention to her. Solving the mystery of Mars, however, could save Earth and the Martians as well. Can Kit and Nita figure out a way to juggle destiny, duty, and their hearts’ desires?
A great addition to the Young Wizards series. The characters are true to their natures and are likable. The plot is well-developed and holds the reader’s interest. Readers who have read the other nine books and like science fiction, fantasy, adventure, and action will enjoy reading this book. MS. ADVISABLE. Reviewer: Kira M, Youth Services Librarian, WHI Public Library.
