The Vespertine by Saundra Mitchell

Mitchell, Saundra, The Vespertine, 304 p. $17.  Content: G.  As the day draws to the end, Amelia catches visions on the rays of the sunset – vespers.  Its 1889 and Amelia is happy to be staying in Baltimore, to go to parties and meet new people, instead of being stuck in the village under the thumb of her brother.  But when she starts having visions when the light of the sunset strikes her eyes, things really get exciting.  Add Nathaniel, a totally inappropriate  artist, who ignites her heart, but has secrets of his own.  The visions are fun, until some of them become a bit more ominous – and it can be too easy for people to confuse the seer with the cause - and start laying blame, instead.  Though it would be easy to classify this as another paranormal romance, I was much more satisfied by the end than I originally thought I would be.  It is extremely romantic and not cheesy at all.  I think your readers will be highly satisfied.  MS, HS – ADVISABLE.
