In a post-apocalyptic where zombies run amok, 15-year-olds have to work or lose their food rations. After exhausdting all his options, Benny Imura reluctantly becomes apprenticed to his brother, Tom, a zombie killer, who blames Benny for his parents’ deaths. When he travels into the wilderness with Tom, he realizes that the line between man and monster is not as clear cut as everyone says and flesh-eating zombies aren’t the most dangerous monsters in the world. Will Benny and Tom patch up their relationship? Will Benny stay a zombie killer?
A great adventure for reluctant readers. The plot is well-developed. The characters are complex and likable. Readers who like zombies, science fiction, fantasy, and adventure will enjoy reading this book.
