Spires, Ashley Small Saul.  Kids Can Press, 2011.  $16.95.  PICTURE BOOK.  Small Saul loves to be at sea, but the Navy won’t take him, so he takes his chances with a pirate ship.  Even though his style different from the other pirates, they realize that there is an important place for Saul on their ship.  Another great look at how our difference are what make us important to each other.  Very fun and the illustrations are just right.  EL (K-3) – ESSENTIAL.
