A year ago it was Callie, 17yo, and her sister Chloe, 15yo, and a magical summer helping their aunt Lucy renovate her new bed and breakfast.  This year Callie is back – alone – because Chloe died last year and Callie just knows it is all her fault. A year of self-medicating with pot didn’t assuage her grief and guilt. She doesn’t hold out hope that being back where it all happened.

With a little slice of magical realism, Upperman weaves a story that will linger with you. Callie will tug at your heart. There is a romance mixed in, but Callie is the star.
