Bert’s backyard provides the perfect environment for his pet animals. Cat loves resting in the flower bed. Dog loves wading in a pool of water. Chickadee loves the birdseed feeder full of seeds. Squirrel loves the corncob found on the ground. It was simply a perfect day! What could possible go wrong? This all changes when Bear comes into the yard. Suddenly all the yard animals are happy to give up the thing that makes them happy in order to avoid making Bear upset. In the end, Bear has the best day of all!
We enjoyed this book. The ending took a turn we weren’t expecting. The illustrations are sweet and detailed.
