Young, Karen Romano Whale Quest: Working Together to Save
Endangered Species, 113 pages.
NON-FICTION. Twenty First
Century (Lerner), 2017.
As humans spread across the earth they did their best to
hunt down and extinguish pretty much every species of whale that they
encountered. As technology improved, the
carnage increased. And new technologies
brought new problems, even after people finally started acknowledging that the
wholesale hunting needed to stop.
Young paints a vivid, detailed picture f the history of
man’s interaction with whales from the past to the present. If you could convince a middle school or high
school student to use a book, this is resource is far superior to than anything
they could find on the internet.
MS, HS – ADVISABLE.
