John, Jory Penguin Problems, illustrated by Lane Smith. PICTURE BOOK.
Random House, 2016. $18.
The little penguin has nothing good to say about his day or
about anything around him. A walrus
comes along with some good advice – but the change in attitude only lasts so
long.
I love the illustrations so much in this book, but I am not
so thrille about the page after page after page after page of the penguin’s
whining. Then the walrus (who I was
hoping would eat the penguin) spouts out an overfull page of advice, which the
penguin promptly ignores and goes back to complaining.
NOT RECOMMENDED.
