Jeffers, Oliver A
Child of Books Illustrated by Sam
Winston PICTURE BOOK Candlewick Press,
2016. $17.99 Content: G.
A little girl goes for an adventure across the sea, in the forest, and
over mountains. She uses her imagination
with the help of books and takes a little boy with her on her adventures. She loves her world made of stories and her
imagination, and it is available for everyone because your imagination is
free.
This book reads like a poem about
being a book lover. The illustrations
are a mix of drawing, real pictures and text.
The text is used from different classics to make pictures, for example,
the characters hike a mountain of text from the story of Peter Pan. This is a great gift for book lovers. My eight year old son wanted to hold the book
himself after I had read it to him, so he could read the little text that is
hidden in the pictures.
