Barnes, Jennifer Lynn The Long Game (The Fixer, #2), 358 pgs. Bloomsbury, 2016.$17.99 Content: Language: PG (2 swears); Mature Content: G; Violence: PG-13.
Tess’s ability to get kids out of bad situations has spread across Hardwicke Academy, but she finds her world of political kids merging with Tess’s mom’s world of keeping the United State's President safe from terrorists. Because of who Tess’s family is, she finds herself the target of this terrorist group. Tess has to use her reasoning skills, connections and secrets to keep her friends and family safe.
This is advertised as a two book series, which makes me sad because I could read more with these characters. I loved all the unexpected twists and turns and the strong main character. The violence is an execution of a high school student, which is upsetting, it doesn’t describe the gore, but it is intense. Tess reminds me of a Veronica Mars type personality among the political kids.
