Who's the Grossest of Them All? by Susan McElroy Montanari - OPTIONAL

Montanari, Susan McElroy Who’s the Grossest of Them All?  Illustrated by Jake Parker Schwartz PICTURE BOOK Wade Books, 2016.  $17.99  Content: G.

A goblin is confident that he is the vilest creature, until he crosses paths with a troll.  As the two try to decide who is the nastiest, by asking passers-by, they need a tie-breaker.  A sassy little girl comes along and out-grosses both the goblin and troll by picking her nose and almost touching them with the green slime.

I thought this book was predictable and boring, the illustrations are sub-par and the picking of the nose is nasty.  That said, my two boys thought this book was hilarious.  They think it’s funny that the little girl out nasties the bad guys with boogers.  If you are looking for a book with good values and a meaningful story line, this is not that book.  If you want potty-type humor this book is for you.

EL (K-3) – OPTIONAL.  Reviewer, C. Peterson.
