Chung, Arree. Ninja! Attack of the Clan, PICTURE BOOK. Henry Holt and Company, 2016. $16.99. Sometimes families are so busy it’s hard to find one to play with. That’s the way it goes for one little boy when he is looking for someone to play ninja with. He is so disappointed. When he goes to eat dinner, his entire family is hiding and they pop out dressed as ninjas in a surprise attack. They wrestle, and hug, and have a really wonderful time together. Written in a frame by frame format, similar to a graphic novel, I thought this was a really cute book. I loved that the family all came together to do something special to make another family member happy. It was a great reminder that even though we all get busy, it’s important to try hard to do make time to do something special for the ones you love. My only complaint is that the story is just slightly slow. Other than that, this is a unique book to add to a library. EL- ADVISABLE. Reviewed by Shay, School Librarian
