Molly ties a note to a red balloon and then
lets the helium take the balloon into the air.
We watch the balloon go high into the sky, so high that there is no
sound, and then when the balloon gets tired it comes back to the earth. A little girl named Katie finds the balloon
with the note and realizes that it belongs to the house next door, Katie and
Molly become fast friends.
The
illustrations in this book are fantastic.
The story of what happens to a balloon when it goes into the sky is told
with a creative twist at the end to have it come back down next door. The writing is lyrical and easy to read.
