Taran is an assistant
pig-keeper who has big dreams of being a warrior. When Hen Wen (the sorcerer’s special pig)
goes missing Taran chases after her and finds himself a chance to live an
exciting life. Taran goes on a journey
where he picks up different friends in a quest to warn the good kingdom of a
rising dark army.
This is the 50th
Anniversary edition of this classic and includes an introduction by Shannon
Hale, a pronunciation guide and a map. I
loved the characters and their exciting adventure. I believe the characters are what made this
book so good because their weaknesses and strengths are shown, not told, and
their loyalty to each other and for good is a great message. I listened to this book on audio and it’s
fantastic and will be listening to the rest of the series. Perfect clean book you can safely add to any
library.
