Fox is tired of eating the same old big fat toads every
night for dinner. He goes to his local bookstore in hopes of finding a cookbook
to fix his dinner boredom. Delightedly he discovers a cookbook devoted to toad
recipes that suggests young toadlets are the better option for his meal. After
he captures a bagful at the pond he must contend with Mama Toad who is intent
on rescuing her brood.
This is a well-illustrated tale that will be enjoyed by
young children who love a good animal story. Fox’s adventures are silly and the
tricks that Mama has up her sleeve will cause giggles. A fun story about family
and food that even provides a recipe for the reader to try.
