Chick and Chickie Play All Day!
Candlewick Press, 2012.
$12.95 PICTURE BOOK
Content: G.
Chick and Chickie are two friends who are trying to decide
what to do. At first they make
masks and scare each other and then they are looking for something else to
do. They decide to play school
when they find a big letter A.
They play with the letter A in different ways to get it to make the
sound “Ah”. They scare it, throw
it, they are nice to it, tickle it and then eventually when they get bored they
leave it alone. They look at each
other and try to decide what to do next and at the end of the book they decide
they will play with letter B tomorrow.
The storyline seems to be all over the place. I guess that it could be a book about emotions, but it
wasn’t told in a linear way. The
illustrations are okay and it is told in a comic book style.
