A cute little
cattle dog has too much energy for one house, so Bird tells him to go find a
cow and herd it. Raised in the city, Dog doesn’t really know what he is looking
for. After a series of misadventures due to mistaken identities, Dog is helped
back to the city in defeat. After a bad reception in the city, Dog and his new
friend finally exchange names, and Dog might have just found who he was looking
for.
I must admit to
some bias here, I love cattle dogs. They are the only kinds of dogs I have ever
had. But that does give me the expertise to say that the artwork depicts a
cattle dog and all its mannerisms with 100% accuracy. The story is really cute
and fun. I think students will love to correct Dog’s mistakes on the farm.
